(YAATC) :Urgent Letter Regarding the Incidents
of August 02, 2007
To: United Nations From:
Yemeni-American Anti Terrorism Center (YAATC) Subject: Urgent Letter
Regarding the Incidents of August 02, 2007 , the Responsibility of the
Regime of Shedding Blood, Possible dangerous consequences for the future
of Yemen, and assisting prisoners by securing their immediate release.
Dear Honorable Mr. Ban ki
Moon Secretary General of the United Nations • The YAATC is submitting
this letter to you due to the extreme emergency in Yemen, where many
innocent citizens are put in jails because they have expressed their
frustration through peaceful demonstrations about the abuse of their
rights by the government of Yemen. These citizens now are requesting the
world solidarity with them against the oppression and injustice of their
government. Their peaceful protests were met with violent repression by
the government sponsored "security committee" leaving a number killed,
some injured and many who were arrested. We are requesting from the
United Nations to intervene by asking the government of Yemen to release
those who were arrested, chief among them is the Brigadier General Ali
Nasser Annoubah, President of the Council of Retired Veterans, Civil
Servants and Security Employees. Tens of thousands of these previous
government employees took to the streets to protest the government’s
policies and practices of discrimination and oppression. In addition, we
are asking the UN to help these citizens to continue their peaceful
struggle to secure their rights. • The YAATC would appreciate your
attention to the previous letters sent to the UN on 07/07/2006,
04/27/2007, and 07/07/2007 explaining the position of the YAATC on the
practices and policies of the Regime in Yemen on matters of terrorism,
corruption, and its role as an impediment to development in Yemen.
Please accept our sincere thanks, respect, and appreciation to you and
your esteemed humanitarian and international organization.
President of YAATC
Executive Director Ahmed Banama Mused Ali E-mail: yaatc1@yahoo.com
